TIPS

• Let go of your notion about what your stuff is worth
• What you paid for the item you are selling does not matter.  It isn’t earning you ANYTHING now, in fact, it is costing you both spiritually and by taking up space.  So anything it sells for is profit.  It is easier to sell ten items for $10 than one item for $100.
• Do research on EBay before posting to see if this item is selling, for how much and general shipping costs
• EBay is about supply & demand.  If 1,000 people have listings of a similar item, you might want to reconsider.
• Buy a few things on EBay before you become a seller.  You need to receive feedback and get comfortable with the auction experience.
• If you receive questions regarding the item you have for sale, answer them promptly.  If anyone emails you asking that you stop the auction and sell to them directly, DO NOT DO THIS.  You are only protected while within the EBay structure.
  
   

When your item sells: 

Email the buyer thanking them

Once you confirm you have payment, email the buyer and let them know when you’ll be shipping the item

Once you have shipped the item, email the buyer with the tracking # and ask for feedback

Log onto your PayPal account and record the tracking #

 

• If the item does not sell, decide whether to relist.  If it isn’t worth it, then the item leaves your house and is donated.

EBAY CHALLENGE

Week of August 17:

·         Setup free checking account – deposit $50 or so in account

·         Create a email account on Hotmail, Gmail or Yahoo

·         Sign up for a EBay account

·         Sign up for a Pay Pal account

·         Confirm amount Pay Pal deposited in your account

·         Move $50 from your checking to your Pay Pal account

 

Week of August 24:

·         Find five things you will sell on EBay

·         Take pictures of these items

·         Resize the pictures and put them in a folder called EBay in My Documents

·         Do a little research on EBay for the same or similar items.  Note the price and shipping costs.

·         Upload the ten items for sale

·         Watch with glee as your items sell and your Pay Pal account gets credited!

·         Thank the buyers and ship the items within three days.

Next month, repeat.
